About Me

JUST A SIMPLE GIRL, LOOKING FOR SOME MAGIC…

Hi everyone! I’m Or and I’m the passionate traveler behind this blog.

HOW I WANT TO HELP YOU

I know many of us can’t travel as slowly as we would have liked to, and travel FOMO can easily make us want to add too many spots to our itinerary (I’ve learned from my mistakes), whether we’re traveling to a big beautiful city, a rural region with charming villages surrounded by natural landscapes, or a coastal destination.

My goal is to help you make the most of your trips and experience each European destination to the fullest instead of just ticking items off the bucket list – BUT – without running from place to place and while also balancing between highlights and hidden gems and between historical sites & cultural experiences and more contemporary spots).

To do that, I’ll share:

  • Alternative things to do and hidden gems in popular destinations.
  • Information about underrated/lesser-known destinations.
  • Detailed, balanced, and exciting itineraries.
  • Travel tips (general tips, places to eat and stay, etc.).
  • Thorough bucket lists.

My favorite places to explore are SPAIN and ITALY. They combine everything I’m looking for when I travel; big colorful cities; old, fairytale villages; dreamy beaches; big green natural spaces; rich culture and history; an inviting vibe; and some of the kindest (and loudest) people I have ever met, so you’ll find plenty of info about them on this blog.

MY JOURNEY TO BECOMING A TRAVEL BLOGGER

In the past years, I have traveled a lot, especially to Spain, Italy, and other countries in Europe. Every time I came back home, I would get extremely sad and jump right into planning my next trip.

At first, I thought: “Am I running away from something? Why is the only thing keeping me going is traveling?”. In hindsight, I can say that I was depressed because I didn’t like myself and my life, and traveling was the only positive thing I had going on.

Over time and after taking better care of myself and my mental health, I realized that this is what I want to do – this is what truly makes me happy and what I want my life to look like, at least for now. Traveling is when I learn the most (about the world, life, and myself) and experience the most, and isn’t that what life is all about?

So to enjoy traveling while being my own boss, I decided to start a blog that inspires others to travel and helps them make the most of every trip.

SOME FUN QUIRKY FACTS ABOUT ME

  • The meaning of my name is “light.”
  • I love watching football (soccer, just to make that clear).
  • I am a vegetarian (more like a pescatarian) who loves to cook and bake (though I prefer easy and quick recipes).
  • Coffee, dark chocolate, and any other carbs are my addictions.
  • I grew up on Argentinian telenovelas and TV series, and thanks to subtitles, I learned Spanish just by watching TV (shocker!). I read books in Spanish, listen to music in Spanish, and am just obsessed with anything involving this language. I’ve even partially picked up the Argentinian accent.
  • I’m obsessed with Queen.
  • If you’ve watched New Girl, Brooklyn 99, and Schitt’s Creek multiple times (like me), you’re my kind of person.

  1. Hola Or, I’m sitting in the fountain right in front of the Royal Palace taking the sun at 19:00 on March 27, 2023 reading your blog.

I am already tanned and it’s not even April yet thanks to the best weather in Europe. I love winters and autumns too and we have very beautiful ones too so our 4 seasons are wonderful except for the summers being awfully hot off you don’t have air conditioning for sleeping.

We have wonderful mountains with snow to ski every year at just 50 km where I own a house so you can be there in 40 minutes.

Madrid has more variety of things to offer for fun and enjoying life than any other city because of the weather plus culture plus lifestyle plus many different neighborhoods and architectures and styles, you never end discovering new things and places.

I’ve lived here almost all my life and never get bored with it.

I hope you’re very happy forever and stay with us long.

    • Thanks for wanting to support me, Russell! It means a lot.
I know it’s not very convenient, but all of these platforms only offer one default currency. I’ll definitely look into some more options.
